Boston University Part-Time MBA #1 in Boston, Health Sector MBA Ranked #11 Overall by US News

July 27th, 2011

Boston University School of Management maintained its #34 position overall in the business school rankings released last week by U.S. News & World Report. The rankings are based on overall academic quality of the MBA program, placement success as measured by mean starting salary/bonus and employment rates, the academic quality of entering full-time students, and peer and recruiter reviews.

The School of Management’s Professional Evening MBA program was once again ranked #1 in Boston. Overall, Boston University’s part-time program rank improved by three positions to #32. Part-time MBA rankings are based solely on peer review scores from business school deans and MBA program directors at each of the nation’s accredited 295 part-time MBA programs.

The School’s Health Sector Management (HSM) program rose to 11th overall, an improvement  of six positions from the most recent healthcare management ranking published in 2007, based on peer perceptions of the program.

“We are gratified by the improvement in the health sector management program’s U.S. News & World Report ranking, said Mark Allan, Faculty Director, Health Sector Management Program. “This reflects the efforts of a superb group of teacher/scholars who, over the past five years, have redesigned our curriculum to reflect the broader spectrum of the health sector. Perhaps most gratifying are the gains in incoming GPAs and GMAT scores, and the starting salaries of our graduates.”

“Although we are pleased to sustain last year’s fifteen position improvement in the U.S. News & World Report’s overall MBA rankings, we aspire to reach higher levels of recognition,”  said Kenneth W. Freeman, Dean of Boston University School of Management. “We will share the results of our comprehensive strategic planning process that we anticipate will provide additional value for our students in the future and further improve our standing among the best business schools.”
