Fresh Faces

Joanna Alberti, BSBA ’03, was named to BusinessWeek Online’s “Top Entrepreneurs Under 25” list in 2005. She is founder of philoSophie’s, a unique stationary and greeting card company based in Boston that combines both her creative capabilities and business acumen.

David Bedard, MBA ’00, recently completed a management buyout of Sonnax, a leading automotive aftermarket supplier in Bellows Falls, VT. He now serves as COO of the company, which he purchased with a fellow employee. Bedard had been vice president of Sales, Marketing and Business Development and previously was COO of Skip Barber Racing. Sonnax received the 2005 Vermont Exporter of the Year Award.

Hazel Kim, MBA ’01, serves as director of Community Relations for John Hancock Financial Services, Inc. She was named to Boston Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” list for 2005, which recognizes emerging business leaders within the city. In particular, she represented John Hancock at the 2002 and 2004 Olympic Games, where she assisted corporate clients throughout the competition.

Jennifer Kushell, BSBA ’96, is president and co-founder of Young & Successful Media Corp. of Marina del Ray, CA, which specializes in “edu-tainment” programs and properties that target movers and shakers within the 18-34 year-old demographic. She is author of The New York Times Best Seller Secrets of the Young & Successful and has appeared on CNN, ABC News with Peter Jennings, PBS, and BBC.

Parag Vaish, MS·MBA ’03, is a product manager for MSN Sales-Marketing at Microsoft in Redmond, WA. He currently devises business strategies that align client’s marketing goals with MSN’s technology and audience. He also works with developers to launch new MSN Mobile offerings, including streaming video and MSN games. He graduated from the School’s MS·MBA program with both an MBA and a MS in Information Systems.
