  • “Rise to the Challenge: A GPS Urban Adventure”
The roots of experiential adventure education at Boston University run deep. When corporate challenge course trainings were in their infancy in the 1970s, the School of Management created the Executive Challenge program. In the early 2000s, BU brought the adventure to the city streets of Boston through GPS-based urban adventure programs. In 2012, School of Management invested a million dollars to create an innovative classroom studio to revolutionize teaching and learning.  So, come see the classroom, experience the new technology, and have some fun with Professor Paul Hutchinson who has taken experiential education to new heights by developing the Secret Agent Initiative, an exciting, fast-paced leadership and team building workshop that highlights the strengths and weaknesses of a team by challenging them in a complex scenario that requires the use of technology, knowledge of the city streets, and strategic planning. Teams of “Agents” scour the city looking for “Pinky Bolger,” a minor criminal visiting the city.  With their Command Team utilizing a wealth of technological resources, teams of Agents collaborate and attempt to locate and finally capture “Pinky.”  T passes will be provided and students will be assigned to each team to help navigate Boston’s sometime challenging terrain. There are 40 available seats.
Location: The challenge begins at the School of Management, 595 Commonwealth Avenue, Room 326
    Cost: $10.00
