Associate Dean, Career Services
J.P. Matychak is the Associate Dean for Student Engagement at Boston University’s School of Management. I
Prior to his current position, J.P. Matychak was the Director of Career Services at the University of Pittsburgh’s College of Business Administration where also served as assistant director prior to his promotion. J.P. also held positions as an academic advisor in the College of Business Administration. Before joining the staff of the College of Business Administration, J.P. served as a project assistant with the Institute of Politics where he worked on a project that examined human capital policies in Southwestern Pennsylvania. He is a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers and is a book reviewer for the NACE Journal. J.P. is also a member of the MBA Career Services and Employer Alliance. J.P. earned his BS in Business and Economics from Lehigh University, his MEd from the University of Pittsburgh, and is a current doctoral candidate at the University of Pittsburgh. His doctoral research is in the area of strategic planning in higher education.
In J.P.’s spare time he can be found enjoying the outdoors on land and on water, playing his guitar, cheering on the Pirates, Red Sox, and yes, the Steelers and Penguins. He resides with his family in Natick, MA.
Senior Director of Business Engagement
Tony brings greater than 20 years of client management, new business development, marketing and operations experience to Boston University. He previously worked in both higher education and in the corporate sector where he has experience in both the financial services and healthcare industries.
Prior to joining the School of Management, Tony served as an HR Director for The Hanover Insurance Group where he was responsible for the firms College Recruiting function. During his 3 ½ years, his team recruited and hired over 350 college graduates and interns. Previously, Tony spent almost 5 years working in positions of increasing responsibility for the F.W. Olin School of Business at Babson College. He managed the Consumer Products and Energy sectors for the MBA Center for Career Development and worked with both students and corporate partners on effective job placement. He ultimately became responsible for leading the office as Co-Director and was accountable for the MBA CCD marketing program, website content development and student career services satisfaction metrics. Prior to moving into academia, Tony spent 3 years as a Manager of Marketing and Client Management at PharmaCare Management Services, Inc. (CVS Corporation) and 9 years in a variety of Managerial positions at Fidelity Investments. Tony has held both Insurance and Investment licenses and is a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) where he was appointed to NACE NE Regional Planning Board in 2011 for the Boston regional conference.
Tony holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Boston College as well as an M.B.A. in Marketing Management from Pace University. He lives in Medfield, MA with his wife and 2 children.
Director of West Coast Business Development
Roland Luk joined Boston University School of Management’s Feld Career Center on October 1, 2014 as the Director, West Coast Business Development. He is responsible for recruiting and developing new partnerships with F500 and targeted start-up companies in the West Coast, with a special focus on the Silicon Valley Bay Area region.
Roland is an alumnus of University of California, Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, and a minor in Business. After graduating from U.C. Berkeley, Roland was recruited by Hewlett-Packard in Cupertino, CA to be a Systems Engineer where he was responsible for teaching technical classes on the internal architecture of several software operating systems, including HP’s version of Unix and associated hardware. Afterwards, Roland held numerous senior positions, including global management roles, within HP, successfully contributing to functions such as product marketing, consulting, strategic alliances, and pre-sales.
Roland’s experience evolved and became specialized in building software product strategies, product plans, innovative pre-sales tools, and complex agreements with large strategic alliances in the global Fortune 500 companies. Roland welcomed and excelled in several new challenges, some of which took him to unchartered roles in Asia Pacific, where he was successful in developing new businesses and alliances with strategic partners in Japan and Korea.
Roland grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, and credits the Career Center at his alma mater for enabling him to find his first role at HP. Now, Roland wants to bring his extensive background in corporate America and Silicon Valley to establish new partnerships which will yield new internships and career opportunities at leading and innovative companies for Boston University School of Management students.
Roland enjoys discovery travel, new food experiences, the outdoors, and jogging with his family Coton dog. Roland is married, and they have a daughter in college.
The Employer Relations team establishes and fosters relationships globally with industry leading companies for “on campus branding” and to provide students with an array of internships and full time positions aligned with their career interests.
Director of Employer Engagement
Annette McBride joins us from Gatti & Associates where she was a Senior Associate working on both contingency and retained search assignments for mid-level to senior Human Resources positions across multiple industries. Prior to joining Gatti & Associates, Annette spent twelve years working for the Consulting Division of Computer Sciences Corporation. Her last few years there were spent as part of the management team in Professional Development and Recruiting roles.
Annette holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Bryant College. She and her husband have 2 children and live in Norfolk, MA.
Patti Dion has been a member of the Feld Career Center’s (FCC) Employer Relations team since 2002, first as business development consultant and later in a permanent capacity as a Senior Corporate Recruiter. In this role, Patti is responsible for building relationships across all levels of the organization, connecting students and employers, and creating employer branding strategies. Although Patti has expertise in the health sector industry, she also has significant prior recruiting experience working with strategy consultancies and financial services corporations. Prior to joining the FCC, Patti ran her own consultancy focused on business development and marketing solutions to the higher education industry. Patti has also served as Director of Marketing for Arthur D. Little School of Management, was an executive recruiting consultant to Fortune 500 multinational corporations, and for five years was instrumental in launching, growing and managing Georgetown University’s first International Executive MBA Program.
In addition to working with corporations in a recruiting capacity, Patti has developed and run several career-related workshops including “Career Search 911,” “Stepping Stones to Strategy Consulting;” and “Career Search from the Soul”—an interactive workshop that Patti designed and ran for regional women’s networking groups. She also developed the concept for the Feld Career Center’s first Recruiter’s Roundtable (Recruiting Outside the Box: Maintaining Your Employer Brand in A Soft Economy”) and was the featured speaker at Bridgewater State University on “Connecting Across the Generation Gap in the Workplace.”
Patti has studied, lived, and worked abroad, with a significant amount of time spent in Brazil, France, and Mexico. She has an undergraduate degree from Fordham University in French Studies and Communications, and a Master’s degree in Religious Studies from Georgetown University. Patti resides on the South Shore with her husband and two daughters.
Kristina joined the Feld Career Center in August 2013. She graduated from the University of Delaware with a BA in Communication where she was a member of the Women’s Swim Team. Afterwards, she received her MBA in Marketing from Providence College. Prior to joining Boston University, she worked in the MBA Career Center in the D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University. Here she managed all MBA Career Center systems, data, and on and off campus recruiting programs while completing her MEd with a concentration in Higher Education Administration. In her free time she enjoys baking, cheering for the Patriots, running, and swimming.
Joe Saunders joined the Employer Relations team in November 2012. Joe has been working in the Financial Services industry for more than 20 years specializing in corporate relationship management and business development. He has worked in the corporate sector for such companies as Fidelity Investments, Sloane McCarron Capital Advisors and Merrill Lynch. Joe has managed clients and established relationships across many Mutual Fund, Broker/Dealer, Registered Investment Advisor, Banking, Insurance, and CPA firms. In his role, Joe will be focused on developing deeper, more strategic relationships with financial services companies and mining additional job opportunities across all functions for our students.
Joe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Massachusetts as well as an M.B.A. in Finance from Northeastern University. He lives in Andover, MA with his wife and 2 children.
Deana graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a BA in English, first launching her career in Secondary Education. She then decided to transfer her teaching skills to the career consulting/search placement field, helping place all levels of professionals in various functions, as well as industries. In addition to playing match-maker for candidates and employers, Deana played an integral role guiding candidates in writing more effective resumes and preparing them for successful interviews. Much of her time in the agency placement world was also spent building relationships and cultivating new business. After 6 years, she found her niche in Campus Recruitment while working for Liberty Mutual Insurance, where she focused on recruiting MBA’s for its Leadership Rotational Program. In October 2013, Deana was thrilled to join the FCC in a role that is a perfect combination of coaching students/candidates and fostering new business relationships. Outside of higher-education Deana enjoys spending time with her family, supporting the arts, and sharing the stage with her community musical-theatre family.
Rochelle is the newest member of the Employer Relations team focusing on the Energy & Sustainability, Utilities, Manufacturing and Public Non Profit sectors. Prior to joining the team in May 2014, she worked for almost seven years at Northeastern University’s School of Business as a Career Planning Manager, advising full-time MBA students on all aspects of career planning. Rochelle’s background also includes diverse marketing roles in technology, market research consulting, and higher education at Brandeis University. She earned her MBA from Boston College.
In her spare time, Rochelle enjoys the outdoors by biking, kayaking, skiing, and hiking. She lives with her husband in Somerville, where both her adult sons live on their own – except when it’s time to do laundry. Rochelle is a transplanted New Yorker, but roots for Boston sports teams.
The Graduate and Undergraduate Career Coaches provide one-on-one personal coaching how to prepare and implement your strategic job search. Our coaches will help you explore individual interests, identify career objectives and review your options. The FCC works with Undergraduate, Full-Time MBA, Part-Time MBA, Executive MBA, and Masters in Mathematical Finance students, as well as Alumni.
Director of Student Engagement
Elaine joined the Feld Career Center full time in March of 2011. Elaine was formerly Vice President, Director of Professional Services, at Lee Hecht Harrison working closely with individual clients in their Boston Office and as an affiliate to Feld. She has wide-ranging knowledge of career transition and management and experience in guiding professionals into new and exciting career assignments.
Her professional experience includes work in the public and private sector, including designing and developing human resource systems, human resource consulting, and designing and managing career development programs. Elaine has had engagements in the insurance, manufacturing, media/communications, utility and computer industries. Her public sector experience includes teaching at the secondary level.
Elaine holds a BS from Salem State University, an MEd from Slippery Rock University, and an MA in Communication Studies from Emerson College. She also attended Harvard University Extension School, University of Michigan and Northeastern University as part of her commitment to professional development.
An involved member of the community, Elaine previously held a leadership position with WIND (Wednesday is Networking Day), facilitated the Burlington Human Resources Networking Group, and volunteered at 91.9FM Radio, a public radio station on the campus of UMASS/Boston. Additionally, she is a past President of the Board of Directors and Corporator of the Dana Home in Lexington where she also chaired the HR Committee.
Elaine also studied at the Landscape Institute pursuing her interests in landscape design and history.
Todd Bartlett joins us from Northeastern University where he was an Information Assistant in their Office of Alumni Relations. During his tenure Todd assisted in the planning and coordination of campus wide events and also helped foster a relationship between alumni relations and career services to better serve alumni and students. Prior to joining Northeastern, Todd was a social media manager for Blue Wave Marketing & Promotions, an integrated marketing agency located in Boston, MA.
Todd holds a Master’s of Science Degree in Corporate and Organizational Communication from Northeastern University. He has a passion for helping students realize, reach, and maintain their career objectives.
Gary has been a member of the Feld Career Center since 2005. Gary holds an MBA in Marketing and Law, and a BS Engineering in Electronics, all from Drexel University in Philadelphia.
In addition to supporting SMG students, Gary has been providing career services for over 10 years as a Senior Consultant for Boston-area executive coaching and outplacement services organizations as well as for his private clients. Prior to his career consulting, Gary was 20 years with Hasbro, most recently as VP for their Games Group in Marketing and New Product Development.
Patrick joins Feld from the Educational Resource Center at BU, where he was involved in student and faculty outreach as the Retention Program Specialist for three years. At the ERC, he met with students individually, in workshops, and in lectures to discuss academic strategies, and he also trained student ambassadors to deliver academic strategies. Patrick created a resource manual and a decision-making triangle to help students make pragmatic decisions as they develop their academic and professional pursuits. He also produced videos on YouTube to help more students successfully navigate and take ownership of their college experience.
Prior to BU, Patrick worked at Yale University in the Office of Development. Earlier in his career, he worked in the corporate world at Cadbury Adams, where he created a new vendor relations process, managed finances for the Package, Design and Development team, and proofread nutrition copy.
Patrick received a Master’s in Higher Education from the University of Maine and a Communication Sciences degree from the University of Connecticut. He looks forward to sharing more of his career development story, insight into the world of work, and a big picture perspective with SMG students as they look to realize their own potential.
In addition, Patrick manages a growing professional networking group in Boston and he is on the Lynn Community Association Board.
Vicky joins us from her previous role at a nonprofit called Bottom Line where she created and ran a career program for first generation/low income college students. She has both a background as a Recruiter for Software Developers and a Mutual Fund Accountant at State Street. Since entering the Career Services field in 2008, she completed an assistantship at Northeastern University, an internship at Wentworth Institute of Technology, and a practicum at Mount Ida College.
She graduated in May 2011 with her MS in College Student Development and Counseling from Northeastern University, and has been a senior board member of the Career Counselor’s Consortium NE for the last 4 years.
Ronit joined Boston University in August 2010. Previously, she worked at the NYU Stern School of Business in the MBA Office of Career Development. At Stern, Ronit worked with firms to develop their recruiting strategies and coached students on topics including interview schedule management and negotiation tactics. Prior to joining Stern, Ronit worked on the other side of the recruiting spectrum, as a member of the Corporate College Relations department at Citigroup. At Citi, Ronit coordinated on-campus recruiting activities for several of their undergraduate and graduate programs. Ronit received a BA in Psychology from the University of Michigan.
Before joining BU, Ms. Nigro worked in the high tech industry as a solution sales professional, working with the F100 while at Sybase, Inc (now SAP) and Hummingbird LTD (now OpenText). Prior to launching her own marketing company in 2005, she worked at Dun and Bradstreet, partnering strategically with top local companies like BCBS of Massachusetts, Honeywell, and FM Global. Nominated for a Stevie Award in 2009 and consistently quoted in print and promotional trade industry magazines and interviewed by the Wall Street Journal, Ms. Nigro brings corporate experience to the graduate students and program at BU. Her experience helps the students prepare for their career and brings the program and organizations together, forming mutually beneficial relationships that create value for this dynamic space in financial and data-driven industries.

The Marketing & Operations team efficiently and effectively provides outstanding customer service to current students, alumni, and employers, by facilitating recruiting events, on-campus interviews, and managing web-based recruiting systems.
Marketing, Operations & External Relations Manager
Monica joined the Feld Career Center in September 2012. She graduated from Providence College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and is currently pursuing her MBA in Marketing at Boston University. Prior to joining Boston University, Monica managed digital and social initiates for CVS Caremark’s walk-in clinic MinuteClnic. She also spent time working on the CVS Brand Merchandising team and CVS Advertising Account Services team.
In her free time, Monica enjoys reading, listening to live music and spending time with friends and family.
Ivanka joined the Feld Career Center in October 2013. She graduated from BU School of Management ’13 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a dual concentration in Finance and Management Information Systems. Prior to starting at the FCC, Ivanka worked in the IT department at Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and in the ITS department at BU School of Management.
In her free time, Ivanka strives to fuse fashion with philanthropy, currently working as the Marketing Director for Angela&Roi Handbags.
