Jim O’Neill
Assistant Dean, Feld Career Center
Jim currently holds the position of Assistant Dean – Feld Career Center. He is responsible for delivering excellence in all phases of its operations including, but not limited to, ensuring that SMG students are market ready upon graduation and partnering with industry leading companies to hire SMG students. He was promoted into the position after serving for 4 years as the Director of Corporate Relations. Jim takes an active role in the Boston MBA Consortium, a collaborative of career services professionals from nine Boston-area business schools and is professionally well networked.
Prior to joining Boston University, Jim ran a college relations program for Investors Bank & Trust (now State Street Corporation) and worked for a decade in the contract staffing industry for TAC Worldwide Companies.
Jim holds a Bachelors Degree from Merrimack College and resides with his wife and 3 children in Wakefield, MA
Tony Tristani
Director of Corporate Relations: Information Technology & Human Resources
Tony brings greater than 20 years of client management, new business development, marketing and operations experience to Boston University. He previously worked in both higher education and in the corporate sector where he has experience in both the financial services and healthcare industries.
Prior to joining the School of Management, Tony served as an HR Director for The Hanover Insurance Group where he was responsible for the firms College Recruiting function. During his 3 ½ years, his team recruited and hired over 350 college graduates and interns. Previously, Tony spent almost 5 years working in positions of increasing responsibility for the F.W. Olin School of Business at Babson College. He managed the Consumer Products and Energy sectors for the MBA Center for Career Development and worked with both students and corporate partners on effective job placement. He ultimately became responsible for leading the office as Co-Director and was accountable for the MBA CCD marketing program, website content development and student career services satisfaction metrics. Prior to moving into academia, Tony spent 3 years as a Manager of Marketing and Client Management at PharmaCare Management Services, Inc. (CVS Corporation) and 9 years in a variety of Managerial positions at Fidelity Investments. Tony has held both Insurance and Investment licenses and is a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) where he was appointed to NACE NE Regional Planning Board in 2011 for the Boston regional conference.
Tony holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Boston College as well as an M.B.A. in Marketing Management from Pace University. He lives in Medfield, MA with his wife and 2 children.
Patti Dion
Senior Corporate Recruiter: Biotechnology, Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, & Healthcare Delivery
Patti Dion has been a member of the Feld Career Center’s (FCC) Corporate Recruiting team since 2002, first as business development consultant and later in a permanent capacity as a Senior Corporate Recruiter. In this role, Patti is responsible for building relationships across all levels of the organization, connecting students and employers, and creating employer branding strategies. Although Patti has expertise in the health sector industry, she also has significant prior recruiting experience working with strategy consultancies and financial services corporations. Prior to joining the FCC, Patti ran her own consultancy focused on business development and marketing solutions to the higher education industry. Patti has also served as Director of Marketing for Arthur D. Little School of Management, was an executive recruiting consultant to Fortune 500 multinational corporations, and for five years was instrumental in launching, growing and managing Georgetown University’s first International Executive MBA Program.
In addition to working with corporations in a recruiting capacity, Patti has developed and run several career-related workshops including “Career Search 911,” “Stepping Stones to Strategy Consulting;” and “Career Search from the Soul”—an interactive workshop that Patti designed and ran for regional women’s networking groups. She also developed the concept for the Feld Career Center’s first Recruiter’s Roundtable (Recruiting Outside the Box: Maintaining Your Employer Brand in A Soft Economy”) and was the featured speaker at Bridgewater State University on “Connecting Across the Generation Gap in the Workplace.”
Patti has studied, lived, and worked abroad, with a significant amount of time spent in Brazil, France, and Mexico. She has an undergraduate degree from Fordham University in French Studies and Communications, and a Master’s degree in Religious Studies from Georgetown University. Patti resides on the South Shore with her husband and two daughters.
Theresa Mangan
Senior Corporate Recruiter: Accounting, Diversified Financial Services, & Investment Banking
Theresa Mangan joined the Feld Career Center in 2010, and is a full time Senior Recruiter responsible for maintaining and developing relationships in the Accounting and Finance area.
Theresa comes to us from Northeastern University where she has spent the last 8 years supporting the Cooperative Education program for both business and engineering. In the most recent 4 years, she has managed a finance co-op program for the College of Business Administration, partnering with finance firms and preparing finance students for 6 month co-op rotations. She collaborated with finance firms to establish competitive recruiting strategies, on campus presentations and interviewing logistics in order to foster a partnership between the University and the employer. Previous to working in Higher education Theresa worked in the business world for 3 years focusing in sales for the technology and accounting industry.
Theresa received her Masters of Science in Applied Educational Psychology, concentrating in College Student Development and a CAGS in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, from SUNY Potsdam.
Annette McBride
Senior Corporate Recruiter: Consulting, Luxury & Retail, Media & Real Estate
Annette McBride joins us from Gatti & Associates where she was a Senior Associate working on both contingency and retained search assignments for mid-level to senior Human Resources positions across multiple industries. Prior to joining Gatti & Associates, Annette spent twelve years working for the Consulting Division of Computer Sciences Corporation. Her last few years there were spent as part of the management team in Professional Development and Recruiting roles.
Annette holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Bryant College. She and her husband have 2 children and live in Norfolk, MA.
Cynthia Thornton-Drost
Senior Corporate Recruiter: Market Research, Digital Marketing, Consumer Packaged Goods, & Insurance
Cynthia has been on the Corporate Relations team in the Feld Career Center since March of 2005. Before coming to BU she spent over 20 years in Executive Search. This background gave her the strong business development skills to create new relationships with local and national companies, thus increasing the number of job opportunities and internships for both undergraduate and graduate students. She is an active member of the MBA Marketing Career Community and maintains a strong awareness of the changes that are occurring in the marketing world. She brings that knowledge to her business development efforts and shares that expertise with the students.
A resident of Maine, Cynthia and her husband spend their free time hiking, sailing, and golfing. She has three children and grandchildren that are her constant source of enjoyment.
Diane Riemer

Gary Bergmann
Senior Consultant & Assistant Director: IMBA, PEMBA, EMBA & Alumni Career Services
Gary has been a member of the Feld Career Center since 2005. He currently provides career consulting services and lectures for students in the Executive MBA, International MBA, and Professional Evening MBA programs. He also supports SMG alumni, and graduate Investment Management and DBA students. Gary holds an MBA in Marketing and Law, and a BS Engineering in Electronics, all from Drexel University in Philadelphia.
In addition to supporting SMG students, Gary has been providing career services for over 10 years as a Senior Consultant for Boston-area executive coaching and outplacement services organizations as well as for his private clients. Prior to his career consulting, Gary was 20 years with Hasbro, most recently as VP for their Games Group in Marketing and New Product Development.
Raphael Constantino
Assistant Director: Mathematical Finance Career Services
Raphael brings over 30 years of executive level corporate experience in the financial services industry and senior higher education roles to meet the needs of graduate students and corporate partners.
Prior to joining the School of Management, Raphael served as the Director of Experiential Learning and Relationship Manager for the Finance cohort with the Olin School of Management at Babson College. His corporate experience spans several functional areas including Managing Director for Strategic Marketing and Product Development with State Street Global Advisors where he drove U.S. and international corporate initiatives in Europe, China, Hong Kong, and Australia. Raphael also played a leading role in the formation of CitiStreet LLC, a joint venture between State Street and CitiCorp and served on its Board of Directors. He also founded Schoolhouse Capital LLC. serving as its President and chief investment officer. Raphael was the highest ranking non-national with the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority serving as its senior consultant and external funds manger. Additional consulting/ investment roles included Mercer Meidenger Hanson, Equitable Capital Management, Smilen & Safian and Citibank.
Raphael is an adjunct faculty of Finance and Economics with Bentley University and Northeastern University. He has also has taught at New York University, Loyola University and the American Institute of Banking. Ralph was a featured speaker at global investment conferences and has appeared on the Nightly Business Report and major print media. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Business Administration from Wagner College as well as a Master’s degree in Economics from Rutgers University.
Caroline Chiang
Assistant Director: Undergraduate Career Services
Caroline joined the Feld Career Center in May 2010 and loves working with the undergraduate students here at the School of Management. Prior to BU, she worked at Brown University supporting undergraduates, graduate students and alumni with their career-related goals. Caroline’s background is a great fit for SMG with her years of experience working in the corporate/business world. As graduate of Johnson & Johnson’s Information Management Leadership Development Program (IMLDP), she spent several years with J&J supporting their internal business partners across multiple operating companies. In addition, she participated in various J&J college recruiting initiatives which prompted her career change into higher education and career counseling. She is a firm believer that it is never too late to pursue your passion!
Caroline received her B.S. in Management Science and Information Systems from Penn State University and M.Ed. in Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs from the University of Southern California.
Deborah Federico
Associate Director: Undergraduate Career Services
Deb has been with the Feld Career Center for four years, having first started as an Assistant Director, and now acting as the Associate Director of the undergraduate counseling team. She has an MBA from Boston College and a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Massachusetts. Prior to joining the FCC, Deb held several marketing and market research positions and continues to utilize her strategic marketing skills to help students to become more competitive job candidates. She also has taught a variety of marketing and business courses. Deb is the author of the “From College to Career” blog (http://fromcollegetocareer.blogspot.com/), which is featured on the Riley Guide Career Resource website. She has also had numerous articles published on the Vault Career Intelligence website (http://www.vault.com/wps/portal/usa). In her spare time, Deb loves to take acting classes, which have helped her immensely with teaching and presenting. She is a firm believer in following your passion in your career, which she is exactly what she is doing!
Jake Livengood
Assistant Director: Undergraduate Career Services
Jake joined the Feld Career Center in 2010. He has worked in collegiate career services since 2005 in a variety of roles as a coordinator, assistant director, and instructor of career classes and supervisor of practicum experiences. In addition to teaching Charting Your Career Path courses at the School of Management, he has taught career planning and counseling classes at Loyola University Chicago, Argosy University, and Nevada State College.
He was previously career coordinator with the UNLV Harrah Hotel College and an assistant director at the Loyola University Chicago Career Development Center. Prior to working in career services, Jake supervised a crisis services hotline for three years where he was a trainer and recruiter in the non-profit and healthcare sector. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 2000, a Master of Social Work from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2001 and is completing his Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. His dissertation research examines leadership with career service offices.
Christie Reynolds
Assistant Director: Undergraduate Career Services
Christie joined the Feld Career Center in September 2011. She advises undergraduate business students at SMG and instructs students in SM411, Charting Your Career Path. Christie came to BU from MIT, where she counseled undergraduate, graduate and PhDs in their career paths for two years. Prior to entering the field of higher education, Christie worked at several of the top law firms in business development/marketing in both New York and Washington, DC. Christie received her MEd from Suffolk University in Higher Education Administration, JD from American University, Washington College of Law and BA cum laude from Boston College in Communication. In her free time, she is usually trying out new restaurants, exploring different neighborhoods around the city, watching comedies, and learning to like the Red Sox.
Ronit Silver
Assistant Director: MBA Career Services
Ronit joined Boston University in August 2010. Previously, she worked at the NYU Stern School of Business in the MBA Office of Career Development. At Stern, Ronit worked with firms to develop their recruiting strategies and coached students on topics including interview schedule management and negotiation tactics. Prior to joining Stern, Ronit worked on the other side of the recruiting spectrum, as a member of the Corporate College Relations department at Citigroup. At Citi, Ronit coordinated on-campus recruiting activities for several of their undergraduate and graduate programs. Ronit received a BA in Psychology from the University of Michigan.
Elaine Sullivan
Assistant Director: MBA Career Services
Elaine joined the Feld Career Center full time in March of 2011. Elaine was formerly Vice President, Director of Professional Services, at Lee Hecht Harrison working closely with individual clients in their Boston Office and as an affiliate to Feld. She has wide-ranging knowledge of career transition and management and experience in guiding professionals into new and exciting career assignments.
Her professional experience includes work in the public and private sector, including designing and developing human resource systems, human resource consulting, and designing and managing career development programs. Elaine has had engagements in the insurance, manufacturing, media/communications, utility and computer industries. Her public sector experience includes teaching at the secondary level.
Elaine holds a BS from Salem State University, an MEd from Slippery Rock University, and an MA in Communication Studies from Emerson College. She also attended Harvard University Extension School, University of Michigan and Northeastern University as part of her commitment to professional development.
An involved member of the community, Elaine previously held a leadership position with WIND (Wednesday is Networking Day), facilitated the Burlington Human Resources Networking Group, and volunteered at 91.9FM Radio, a public radio station on the campus of UMASS/Boston. Additionally, she is a past President of the Board of Directors and Corporator of the Dana Home in Lexington where she also chaired the HR Committee.
Elaine also studied at the Landscape Institute pursuing her interests in landscape design and history.
Allison McCartney
Assistant Director: Operations
Allison is the Assistant Director of Operations at the Feld Career Center and has worked at Boston University since 2008. She graduated from Hobart & William Smith Colleges, with a B.A. in Psychology. She recently completed her M.A. in Education from Boston University. Before joining the FCC, Allison worked for Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD) as an Intake Coordinator.
Patrick Cavallario
Marketing Analyst
Patrick began his employment with the Feld Career Center in April 2008, after completing his undergraduate studies in Political Science and Business at Boston University. He manages the marketing initiatives, websites and reporting for the FCC. Patrick recently received an MS in Advertising from the Boston University Metropolitan College. He spends his free time playing with his dog Buddy, as well as playing soccer and rugby.
Kathleen Hegedus
Senior Program Coordinator
Kathleen joined the Feld Career Center in October, 2011. Before coming to Boston University, Kathleen worked at the Career Services Office at Boston College Law School for two years as the Staff Assistant. Kathleen received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, with a minor in Elementary Education from Catholic University, and her Master of Arts Degree in Gender and Cultural Studies from Simmons College. While attending Simmons, Kathleen worked as a Transition Specialist for Shriver Job Corps Center. At Shriver, among other roles, Kathleen assisted in teaching a weekly class on resume writing, interview strategy and career identification. After Shriver, Kathleen was the Assistant Director of Client Services at Summit Educational Group, where she helped parents and students navigate the SAT test preparation process.
In her free time, Kathleen enjoys running, taking Zumba classes, reading, and exploring New England.
Lauren Reddy
Program Coordinator
Lauren joined the Feld Career Center in August of 2009. She graduated from Wheaton College (MA) with a BA in history and legal studies. While in school, she was a member of the Cross Country and both the indoor and outdoor Track and Field teams. A California native, Lauren loves the outdoors, reading and spending time with friends and family. As the program coordinator, Lauren manages all front desk operations from answering questions and scheduling appointments to assisting employers and posting positions online.
