Professional Portfolio Program

The Professional Portfolio Program, designed for full-time students, is a collaboration between faculty, the Feld Career Center, and industry-based student clubs that creates a community to help you secure an internship or full-time job in the career area of your choice.

In this module-based two-year program, you will assess your skills and career experiences, refine your professional trajectory by investigating targeted areas of interest, and evaluate how you interview and network in today's marketplace.

Advantages. The end result is your own professional portfolio: a record that charts your achievements and competencies to date and the means to articulate their benefit to your prospective employer in a significant way.

Your professional portfolio will also serve as a lifelong roadmap as you pursue your career goals, a reference guide that can be built upon as you gain new proficiencies and professional experiences and target your next career opportunity.

Logistics. Professional Portfolio modules are incorporated into your organizational behavior and information systems classes, the Career Center's Career Toolkit course, and a separate Professional Community course taken the first semester of your second year. In it, you'll leverage your work experiences to gain a clearer sense of your career vision, implement a more effective job search strategy, and remain focused on your future.

From the start, you will also join a more informal Professional Portfolio community comprised of your portfolio advisor and other students. Communities are based upon your industry interests: consulting, finance, marketing, entrepreneurship, health sector, IT, and public and nonprofit.

You'll meet regularly to share ideas, leads, and contacts. In each community you'll also receive:

  • Curriculum guidance for your preferred industry
  • Career focusing exercises
  • Employer's expectations and suggestions for successful entry into your chosen field
  • Mock interviews and techniques for creating winning résumés and cover letters
  • Outside speakers for informational and networking purposes

End Game. No other business school graduates can say they receive more authoritative advice and career training. No other business school offers a program like the Professional Portfolio.
