On the Future of Pensions & Retirement |
Peter Diamond, Institute Professor & Professor of Economics,
Massachusetts Institute of Technology |

Professor Diamond will discuss past and (uncertain) future trends in mortality and fertility rates, migration and retirement ages. He will analyze how some public pension systems have adapted to these trends and alternatives for future changes. Among the adjustments he considers are altering the balance between public and private pension plans and redesigning the incentive structure of pensions to accommodate older workers.
