Admission Requirements
We'll review your application when you have submitted all of the following materials:
- Application form including answers to required essay questions
- Application fee of $125 payable to Boston University
- Current résumé
- Two letters of recommendation
- GMAT results: request official scores and include a copy with your application package
- BU's GMAT code is P42-5K-43
- GMAT test scores are valid for 5 years
- Official copies of all university-level transcripts (undergraduate and graduate)

Additional Information for International Applicants:
- TOEFL or IELTS results
- BU's code is 3087, department code is 02
- TOEFL: Minimum Scores of 600 on the PBT, 250 on the CBT, or 100 on the IBT are recommended.
- IELTS: A student must score a 7.0 across each band
- TOEFL/IELTS results are valid for 2 years
- TOEFL/IELTS Waiver Policy: International applicants who are not citizens or permanent residents of the US, Great Britain, Canada or Australia, or who have not obtained a degree in one of these countries, are required to take either the TOEFL or IELTS exam.
- For permanent residents: Copy of your permanent resident card (front and back)
Interviews
Upon receiving and reviewing your application, the Admission Committee may contact you to schedule an interview. Interviews are offered only by invitation with a limited number of Off-Campus Interviews available.
Reapplication Process
The Graduate Admissions Office keeps all records on file for one year. In order to reapply you must submit the following materials:
- An official request to reapply
- A new application form, including the application fee (updated essays are not required)
- New letter of recommendation
- A statement discussing updates or changes since the time of the previous application and reasons for reapplying
- An updated résumé
- Transcripts for any new coursework completed since your initial application
- GMAT test scores are valid for 5 years and TOEFL/IELTS results are valid for 2 years. If your scores have expired, you should submit updated test scores
- If you are an international student, you must provide a new International Student Data Form (found in the application), current visa or I-20 documentation, current financial documents as specified in the International Student Data form, and a copy of initial passport page
