Public & Nonprofit Management Program

The Public & Nonprofit Management Program (PNP) is designed for students who seek to use core business management skills to address society's most challenging humanitarian and social problems in the global economy. Whether you plan to work in the government, nonprofit, or private sector, this course of study will prepare you with the financial, operational, leadership, and entrepreneurial skills to lead and manage in today's changing environment.

Program Goals

With an emphasis on enriching your professional experiences and enhancing your problem-solving abilities, the PNP program prepares you to lead through exposure to:

  • Stimulating coursework and case studies
  • Dynamic team interaction
  • Experiential learning opportunities
  • A community of individuals who share your values and commitment
  • Challenging Summer and school-year internships

The Degree

Students enrolled in the program earn a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Public & Nonprofit management. The program combines a rigorous core business curriculum with elective courses in Public & Nonprofit management, a required Summer internship*, and an engaged alumni community of graduates. Whether you are forming a new nonprofit, managing a well-established organization, or engaged in a corporate or private philanthropy, you'll learn the skills and tools you need to be successful.

*Professional Evening MBA (PEMBA) Students who are currently working in a related public or nonprofit capacity may waive the summer internship - please email for additional information.

Kristen McCormack is the faculty director of the Public & Nonprofit Management Program and teaches several courses each year.
