Boston University Internship, Language and Liberal Arts Programs

Boston University sponsors one of the largest study abroad programs in the country, with more than 75 programs offered across 30+ cities in 20+ countries. Each year these programs attract over 2,100 students from Boston University and other schools and colleges nationwide. These programs are coordinated by Boston University Study Abroad and fulfill liberal arts course requirements.  Learn more at the BU Study Abroad web site.

Management Internship Programs

The School of Management, in collaboration with BU Study Abroad, also offers one-semester internship programs in Auckland, New Zealand; Dublin, Ireland; Madrid, Spain; Paris, France; Seoul, South Korea; Sydney, Australia and Washington, D.C. These programs were created for Management students in locations where Boston University has existing internship programs. Students on these programs take one liberal arts course with students from Boston University’s internship program, participate in BU-supervised internships, and take business management courses at a local university through direct enrollment. Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive School of Management credit for management courses taken at the local institution.

Management Exchange Programs

The School of Management offers a direct enrollment opportunity in Copenhagen, Denmark that incorporates an international experience into your education. On this program, students take four management courses at the Copenhagen Business School. Students work closely with business faculty and participate in classes with students from the School and from a variety of backgrounds. Upon successful completion of the program, students receive School of Management credit for management courses taken at the local institution.

An overview of the undergraduate study abroad program at Boston University School of Management.

Most SMG students study abroad the Spring semester of their junior year after SM 323; however, many SMG students also study abroad during the Fall and Summer semesters. Your study abroad semester will depend on your individual course progression. Please meet with an advisor to discuss what works for you.

GENERAL DEADLINES
March 1: Deadline for all Summer Programs
March 15: Deadline for all Fall Programs
September 15: Deadline for Seoul and Madrid Management Internship Programs and several BU Internship Programs for Spring semester (see the BU Study Abroad website for complete list of deadlines)
October 15: Deadline for all other Spring Programs. Students should submit applications before Spring Break.
