Non-SMG Students
Students interested in completing an intra-university transfer (IUT) to SMG must first take SM299: Management as a System (Intensive) and achieve a minimum grade of B and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.70. Students may register for SM299 by submitting a registration form to the SMG Undergraduate Program Office (UPO). Forms will be available prior to assigned WebReg dates. Please check with the UPO one month prior to registration in order to meet any deadlines. Completed forms are keyed in the order they are received. Check the Student Link to learn the final status of your registration. Please note that SM299 is a six-credit course requiring a lecture and one discussion/lab section (plus alternate discussions in the event that the first choice is full).
Students who plan to minor, or wish to take additional SMG courses in order to make a decision regarding transferring are allowed to take no more than 10.5 credits in SMG per semester. Courses may be selected from those which comprise the Minor in Business Administration provided SM299: Management as a System Intensive has been completed. The following courses can be registered for via WebReg on an assigned date the week after WebReg ends: AC221, AC222, LA245, OB221, SM221 and SM411 (click here for course descriptions). The courses are available for registration at midnight on the assigned date (as in, the time that the clock strikes twelve right after 11:59 pm). Please note that: 1) AC221 is a prerequisite for AC222, 2) SM221 is a six-credit course, 3) students registering for OB221 or SM221 must choose a lecture and a discussion section and 4) students registering for OB221 MUST also register for SM411, Charting Your Career Path.
To register for an SMG course not listed above (e.g. IM345, SM222), students must submit a registration form accompanied by a petition, both available in the UPO. Please check with the UPO one month prior to registration regarding the deadline to submit a petition; forms will be keyed in the order they are received. Pick up a reviewed copy of your petition at the front desk of the UPO five business days after submission.
